Weekly Update, March 30, 2012

Remedial Investigation field work commenced in late-March 2010 at the former Metropolitan Works MGP as part of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) approved Remedial Investigation Work Plan (RIWP).  The completed work included the installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, test pit excavations, and indoor air and sub-slab soil vapor points to gather information required to determine the nature and extent of impacts at the former Metropolitan Works MGP.  Drilling proposed in RIWP Addendum No. 2 was completed in April 2011. Additional work to complete the Remedial Investigation, including RIWP Addendums No. 1 and No. 3, was largely completed in the fall of 2011. The Remedial Investigation field work is anticipated to be complete in early 2012.
